Policy Features

Competitive premiums

European or worldwide.

We offer reduced European premiums.

Single trip / Short Term – This policy will provide cover for a specified period from 5 days to 9 months.

Multi Trip – This provides cover for travel in a year for trips starting and ending in home/base country. No one trip can be longer than 60 or 90 days and there is NO restriction to the number of trips made.

Annual – This policy will cover for a full 365/6 days worldwide outside of home country. It remains valid should you return to the field after visiting your home country during the year.

Pre-existing medical conditions

Pre-existing medical conditions are not automatically excluded from cover, but they will be required to be screened and accepted by underwriters.

Group discounts

If you have a group of 10 or more wanting the 'single trip extended stay' policy we will be able to offer you a discount on our standard rates – please ask.

Paid and volunteer workers

Cover is available for Policyholders working or travelling outside of their home country and this will also include manual labour carried out by volunteers and paid staff.

War risk

We can automatically insure you for limited war/terrorism cover providing you are not travelling to any of the following countries;

Afghanistan, Chad, Chechnya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Israel (West Bank & Gaza Strip), Ivory Coast, Libya, Nigeria, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

In the event that you require cover against war/terrorism for any of the countries listed, we can offer a quotation subject to the completion of a war questionnaire and the appropriate additional premium being paid.

Renewals

All annual policyholders will be able to renew their cover whilst still outside their home country.

Personal property

Cover is provided for the loss of, or accidental damage to Business Equipment and personal property.

Medical assistance

A 24 hour, 365/6 day a year, multi-lingual advice and medical assistance service is available from our Medical Assistance Company.

Personal liability

The policy will cover in respect of any damages awarded against the policyholder for causing damage to a third party or the third party’s property. Legal expenses in connection with the defence of any claim will be covered up to the stated policy limit.

Right to cancel

You will, for a period of 14 days, from the date you receive your documents, have a right to cancel your insurance and receive a refund of the premium paid. This refund will be, subject to a charge for the period of cover you have received, plus our reasonable administration charge.

 

Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)

Policies issued by SALT and through Axiom Underwriting for individuals or ‘small businesses' are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. An Insured Person may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if the Insurer cannot meet its obligations (e.g. if it goes out of business or into liquidation or is unable to trade).
